My Canadian-born cataloging professor always said “The Library of Congress is the library of YOUR Congress.” Simply put, LC collects, catalogs, and creates subject headings for what Congress is interested. Really it’s a library for 535 elected representatives and their staffs. Something to remember whether your at the Anytown, USA Public Library or if your Hugo Chavez.
